Take A Break is a North Carolina–based mobile respite and behavioral support service created to support families of children on the autism spectrum. We understand the daily demands placed on caregivers, and we believe support should extend to the whole family.
We provide short-term, in-home and community-based support designed to give parents and caregivers time to rest, recharge, and manage daily responsibilities—knowing their child is safe, understood, and supported in familiar environments.
Our services are non-clinical and ABA-informed. Rather than providing therapy or treatment, we focus on reinforcing routines, promoting emotional regulation, encouraging positive behaviors, and maintaining safety through compassionate, structured support.
Flexible Support Designed Around Your Family
We offer short-term respite and behavioral support services that adapt to your child’s needs and your family’s schedule.
Short-Term Respite Care
Hourly support ranging from 1–4 hours, allowing caregivers time to rest, attend appointments, or manage personal responsibilities.
In-Home Behavioral Support
Structured supervision in the comfort of your home, supporting routines such as meals, transitions, playtime, and downtime.
Community-Based Support
Assistance during outings to parks, libraries, stores, or errands—helping children practice skills in real-world environments.
